Behind the scenes of Just The Two of Us
Defined as ‘the state or time of being a father’ fatherhood is one of the most important roles there is. As an author, it is important for me to tell stories that carry a meaningful message. 'Just The Two Of Us' highlights the significance of having a father figure in a child's life. While this topic is often joked about on social media, the absence of a father figure can have a lasting impact that is more significant than we realise. Reading to children and comforting them at bedtime provides a great opportunity to create a safe space and environment that establishes a strong foundation. I hope that the message is conveyed and creates a positive outlook on this stigma.
The idea behind this book was inspired from an unfortunate day of work of which someone had passed away. I wanted to showcase a story/poem to show everyone that they are truly loved. This book in particular looks at the way a father loves his child undoubtedly. In modern day society the pressures of providing for your family can be overwhelming. Due to this, simple words such as 'I love you' and 'I am proud of you' are not said enough. Words such as these have significant meaning a value to prying ears.
